There’s a moment when the Serio River stops being just water and becomes something more. It happens when you watch it long enough to notice what at first seems irrelevant: the thin shadows of branches leaning towards the current, the reflections that bend the lines, the sense that every detail is similar to the others yet entirely unrepeatable.
Sul Serio was born this way—from an observation that turned into a mark. I wasn’t chasing formal beauty, nor did I want an image that pleased everyone. I wanted to externalize a perception that, in recent years, has grown stronger: fragmentation. Life splitting into parallel planes, into choices that open and close possibilities, into moments fraying like delicate fibers.
Each work in this collection is built from lines that intertwine and drift apart. They are branches, but also thoughts. They are paths that start close and then move in opposite directions. They are lives running side by side without ever truly meeting.
I chose a deliberately minimal graphic language: few colors, clear lines, no decorative distractions. The goal is to allow the viewer to find their own reading. Some will see the movement of water, others a map of human relationships, still others a form of visual breathing.
There’s no need to assign hidden meanings or definitive explanations. For me, art is an encounter between what the artist feels and what the viewer decides to see.
